- Year 2000: WRAP become a standalone entity and start operating separately

- In the sewn products business, WRAP continues to be the most widely recognized independent certification.
- If a company wants to sell to buyers and retailers in the United States, it needs to get the WRAP certification. Even though they have their own certification and compliance procedures, retailers such as GAP, Nike, and Walmart frequently request that producers have a valid WRAP certification.
- It is dependent on the facility’s readiness at the time of application. From the time an application is made for a certificate to be granted, it can take as little as six weeks, but it might take anywhere from two to six months, or even longer in rare cases.
- No, WRAP certification is not available to brands or stores. Individual production units are the only ones that can be.
- Clothing and footwear supply chains are vast and complicated, making it difficult to label any of them as being created wholly in WRAP-certified facilities. While the final assembly of a garment may have occurred in a WRAP-certified facility, the cloth, buttons, or other components may have been manufactured in a non-WRAP-certified site. We do not have a system for identifying clothing and footwear created in our accredited facilities because WRAP is not a consumer-facing company. Several companies and retailers, on the other hand, have chosen to state whether they source from WRAP-certified facilities on their websites.
